Dear Drew & Team.
Regarding the 2 beach wheelchairs, we could not be happier, they are in constant use, and we only wish we could raise money to help Evens Head and the likes to also get theirs. The look on the kids & older people that use them is worth all the fun we had raising the money to get our two. John had a go in it and thought it was great all so.
Thanks for all your help.
And hope to do business again soon.

One word for The Beach Wheel Chair “FANTASTIC”

This is my story…

January 2002 holidaying with 12-year-old Jodie with a disability and her family at South West Rocks NSW, her Mum and Dad made a comment “There has to be an easier way than carrying Jodie on to the beach”. We had a friend arrive and told us about a beach wheelchair she had seen on Ballina Beach.

After coming home both Jodie’s mum and I looked into the matter further, discovering the beach wheel chair from Beachwheels Australia. What a great idea. We were rather excited but then there was the cost in which they could not afford. This then put a damping on there “DREAM CHAIR”

Months went by and I kept thinking how great that chair would be for Jodie. I decided to do a “SURPRISE” Fundraiser; within 6 weeks we made our target. Jodie and her family were presented with the “Beach Wheel Chair” in November 2002 totally overwhelmed and lots of tears of happiness. “DREAMS CAN COME TRUE”

So needless to say back at South West Rocks in January 2003 Jodie had the ride of her life, making it more enjoyable for her adventure to the beach and into the water and most definitely more comfortable. To see Jodie being able to walk along the beach for the first time made me proud and her expressions said it all.

The response to the Beachwheel Chair was amazing, definitely a head turner, the talk of the beach people constantly approached us and would say “WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA” many asked for details as the Beach Wheel Chair would be great for a family member or friend that was unable to go to the beach.

The Beach Wheel Chair is a fantastic invention; family, friends and myself would “HIGHLY” recommend it.

This Beach wheelchair allows not only those with a disability but the elderly to still have a sense of adventure and enjoy the outdoors.

Dear Mr Drew Valentine,

We became the proud owners of a Beach Wheelchair purchased from your company last November. As you were aware it was a fundraiser organised by Michelle & Ron Jones. When we received the chair we didn’t realise just how much it would have an impact on our daughter’s freedom to enjoy life at the beach.

In January this year, we went on holidays to the Mid North Coast to a lovely place called South West Rocks. Whilst we have been on holidays there for several years, this year’s holiday was very special. This year we had a wheelchair that would allow us to take our disabled daughter down to the beach and into the water with ease.

We thought our first challenge would be on how to get it to the beach, as it doesn’t fold up like a “normal” wheelchair and be able to go into the boot of our car. We needn’t have worried, as because of its lightweight it was extremely easy to place onto roof racks and tie down.

Our next thought was on how it was going to perform on the beach and near the water. Well there was only one word to describe its performance and that was BRILLIANT. The ease in which it travelled on dry and wet sand was tremendous. Our daughter was overwhelmed with the experience of it. Although she is unable to communicate verbally, her expressions and smile on her face was enough to tell us how she was feeling.

The ease in which it travelled was shown by the fact that even our nine year-old sons was able to push her around on the beach. Each time we placed her into the water, we were able to take her right down to the waters edge and simply lift her into the water without any drama. The same when we would take her out of the water as well. For the first time we were able to actually take a stroll along the beach as a family instead of leaving her behind to just sit and watch.

Whilst on the beach we had numerous people coming up and asking us what is was and where to purchase it. We had no hesitation in giving them your company’s name, address and phone number.

I hope that this letter in some way expresses our gratitude to you and your company for the wonderful experience and freedom you have given to our daughter by simply making these Beach Wheelchairs available for the disabled and their carers.

Yours truly,
Peter & Robyn
